Maitland Family Support invited local community to help celebrate the installation of our cultural poles at the Woodberry Family Centre on July 13, 2016.

The celebration was kicked off by a welcome to country by Leon Hammond, followed by music and dancing.  Everyone then gathered in our BBQ area to enjoy lunch.

Maitland Family Support Scheme Inc held their open day on Monday 23rd June 2014, the aim of the day was to let services and community know what is available in the area and to finally celebrate our move to the Woodberry Family Centre. The day kicked off with a welcome to country by Aunty Marge Anderson, followed by a smoking ceremony conducted by Leon Hammond.

Thank goodness the weather held off and the services, community members, local childcare staff and children were able to gather in the newly renovated community  BBQ area to enjoy the highlight of the day the brilliant Murrin Dancers, accompanied on  didgeridoo by local artist John Robinson.  A BBQ followed which was kindly cooked by long time supporters of Maitland Family Support the East Maitland Kiwanis.

A big thank you goes out to Gary & Louise from RealCare for their generosity in donating sausages for the BBQ as well as free boxes of cereal for people to take home

Kids had the chance to enjoy getting their face painted, art & craft activities and walk through our fairy garden while parents had the opportunity to talk to services and get information on local community services and agencies.
