Supported Playgroups

Supported playgroups are an opportunity for parents and carers to share the experience of parenting and learn new parenting skills while being supported by our Family Workers. Supported playgroups provide children with an opportunity to socialise, play, and learn in a structured and positive environment. Come and join us and other families to learn together.

Activities and learning areas may include:

Tenambit Tiny Tikes

On every Thursday during school terms, our supported playgroup at Tenambit is based on the evidence-based smalltalk supported playgroup model developed by the Parenting Research Centre. It is open to families across the Maitland LGA, with children aged 0-6 years, that would like additional support to help them identify everyday opportunities that promote learning and development. Parents register for a term and are supported to not only learn lots of great strategies but to also be connected with local community playgroups. The group is facilitated by staff qualified in community services and early education to ensure parents receive timely support for their questions. There is no cost for this group and a selection of seasonal fruit is provided at morning tea.

Delivery is based on organisational capacity and may require a service fee.
